FORMER GRID Series starlet Daisy Kilbourne will join an all-star lineup on stage next month when the Meadow music festival hits the Bambra Bowl for the last time.<\/p>\n

Kilbourne is among nine local acts selected to perform in a dedicated talent showcase forming part of the festival’s ‘Retreat Creek Hotel’ program, which is aimed at providing up-and-comers with more opportunities to perform.<\/p>\n

Joining Kilbourne on the bill are Surf Coast four-piece De Porsal, Apollo Bay trio Boggle and alt-rock outfit Solar Wax, who split their time between Torquay and Melbourne.<\/p>\n

Both De Porsal and Solar Wax will be familiar to those who have attended Torquay’s Nightjar Festival in recent years.<\/p>\n

Festival co-founder Cameron Wade celebrated the local acts selected to perform at the event’s final hurrah.<\/p>\n

“Reimagining the iconic acoustic guitar set featured in all good country watering holes on a Friday night, we’ve selected a stack of local talent,” he said.<\/p>\n

“[This includes] Geelong songstress Daisy Kilbourne, Surf Coast krautrock punks De Porsal and avant-garde sax-driven instrumental trio Boggle, representing Apollo Bay.<\/p>\n

“We’re beyond buzzing to showcase our region and are incredibly proud of the calibre of artists we’re able to present.”<\/p>\n

In November, Wade announced Meadow would say goodbye this year after staging its 10th event, citing rising operational costs, reduced demand from buyers and growing administrative pressures on the festival’s small team.<\/p>\n

Renowned Melbourne neo-soul four-piece Hiatus Kaiyote and psychedelic rockers Pond will headline the event, performing alongside Floodlights, MJ Lenderman & The Wind, Empress Of and Kaiit.<\/p>\n

More recent additions to the lineup include Japanese garage rock trio Guitar Wolf, French DJ and live duo Pureblast, South Australian noise rock project Twine and songwriter Follow The Robin.<\/p>\n

The three-day festival will take place from March 21 to March 23.<\/p>\n
