{"id":15469,"date":"2018-08-08T09:54:06","date_gmt":"2018-08-07T23:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=15469"},"modified":"2018-08-09T22:17:00","modified_gmt":"2018-08-09T12:17:00","slug":"entries-open-for-shires-calendar-art-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/entries-open-for-shires-calendar-art-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Entries open for shire\u2019s calendar art competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ARTISTS wishing to secure exposure all year round can submit entries for Surf Coast Shire Council\u2019s community calendar art competition.<\/p>\n<p>The 2019 competition is now open for original submissions, in varying media, with the 12 works to colour each month to be selected by a panel of judges.<\/p>\n<p>The calendar\u2019s cover work will be decided by people\u2019s choice vote, while all submissions are on exhibition at Surf Coast Arts Space in Anglesea from August 31 to September 16.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur community calendar is widely distributed across the shire and highly valued as an artistic addition to many homes and businesses,\u201d shire mayor David Bell said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis competition has been running for more than 20 years and provides great opportunity for exposure, with display of the work supported by a description and artist profile.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI always enjoy the diversity of works selected, from sculptures to paintings, photos to mixed media.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 13 winning artists will also receive a cash prize.<\/p>\n<p>The three competition categories are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open, with all media accepted<\/li>\n<li>Installed sculptural work, submitted via photograph<\/li>\n<li>Youth, up to 25 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Artists must be ratepayers or residents and can submit only one entry.<\/p>\n<p>Entries close on August 27.<\/p>\n<p>Artists can register via surfcoast.vic.gov.au\/calendarcomp.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition in the Surf Coast Arts Space in Anglesea will open 10am-5pm daily.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ARTISTS wishing to secure exposure all year round can submit entries for Surf Coast Shire Council\u2019s community calendar art competition.
