{"id":155782,"date":"2025-02-20T11:26:15","date_gmt":"2025-02-20T00:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=155782"},"modified":"2025-02-20T11:26:15","modified_gmt":"2025-02-20T00:26:15","slug":"lipson-boosts-skiers-to-new-heights-at-world-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/lipson-boosts-skiers-to-new-heights-at-world-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"Lipson boosts skiers to new heights at World Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A TORQUAY sports and exercise physiotherapist has helped Australia achieve its best result at a winter sports world cup event in the USA.<\/p>\n<p>Holly Lipson helped Australia lock in the top four spots in the women&#8217;s aerial skiing at the 2025 International Ski World Cup at Deer Valley Resort in Utah.<\/p>\n<p>The global series event saw top ski athletes compete across moguls and aerials disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Lipson&#8217;s role on this assignment was providing physio and support to athletes in both the lead up to and during competition.<\/p>\n<p>She said the team&#8217;s performance in Utah was thrilling to watch.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was super exciting for us to have our best result ever in history across winter sport in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a tricky week. We had really warm weather in the lead up to the event. Day 1 and 2 competition was actually cancelled due to unsafe conditions. It was touch and go whether we would even have it [the competition] at all.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We were super lucky to end up getting it off the ground and it was just a great result for the girls.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 399px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/250207-WorldCup_15_73161.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"599\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Torquay&#8217;s Holly Lipson (second from right) with the aerial skiers. Photo: CALLUM WOOD<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Over the past ten years, Ms Lipson has been a physiotherapist for the Australian Para Alpine Team, Skeleton Team, Australian Aerials Team and individual winter sport athletes at various events.<\/p>\n<p>When back home in Torquay, she practises at Grand Slam Physiotherapy on the Surf Coast Highway.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I just love it [the snow trips] it keeps me fresh.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a big passion of mine and has taken me to some amazing places. It&#8217;s also given me the chance to work with some amazing people.
