After ten years working within the major banks, Emily felt the drive to go into business for herself as a finance broker.<\/p>\n

\u201cHelping people or businesses to secure lending that fits their goals gives me immense satisfaction. That feeling never gets old,\u201d says Emily.<\/p>\n

Emily works with MCP Financial Services, an established business that has been in the finance broking industry for over twenty-five years. A team of industry professionals bring a broad depth of knowledge and experience to every customer.<\/p>\n

MCP Financial has offices in Geelong and other regional areas. They understand the importance of a local presence and dealing with a broker who gets you and your needs.<\/p>\n

Over 70 per cent of Australians now choose to use a broker for mortgage finance rather than going directly to a bank. There have been necessary advances in the acceptance of finance broking in recent years, including more women in the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love to see more and more women entering the broking industry, not just within MCP but across the board,\u201d Emily said.<\/p>\n

Technology and remote working have enabled flexible working parameters, including balancing the needs of family and working life.<\/p>\n

There is still more to do to drive greater participation within the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to seeing more women taking the step into finance broking. It is an area that provides teamwork, flexibility, and opportunity while helping others to achieve their goals,\u201d Emily said.<\/p>\n

Outside of work, Emily, her partner and their three-year-old son enjoy spending their time exploring Geelong and Bellarine, but also like to travel to Melbourne or head down the coast to Warrnambool to see family, as this is where Emily and her partner grew up.<\/p>\n

Having been raised in a family with finance professionals, Emily is proud to be continuing the legacy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it’s important to be a role model for younger women who might be thinking about a career in finance,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’ve had good mentors in my career, and I like to pass that forward, so I’m always available for a chat.\u201d<\/p>\n
