Winners were selected by Paws for GAWS community ambassador and former MasterChef runner-up Simon Toohey and his wife Georgia Radley.<\/p>\n
The PAW-TY Zone was also a hit, with many enjoying market stalls, face painting and games.<\/p>\n
GAWS chief executive officer Helen Cocks said it was a vibrant celebration for all to enjoy.<\/p>\n
“We are thrilled so many people joined us for our second PAWS for GAWS event, and it was wonderful to see so many dogs -of all shapes, sizes and breeds \u2013 enjoying the day.”<\/p>\n
All proceeds from the event will go towards reuniting lost pets with their families and finding new forever homes for those in need.<\/p>\n
Last year, 3383 animals came into GAWS care, including 1263 dogs and puppies.<\/p>\n
It costs GAWS $65 a day per animal to provide care and essentials while preparing them for rehoming.<\/p>\n
“We are a charity and do not receive government funding for our shelter,” Ms Cocks said.<\/p>\n
“We rely on the generosity of our community, and those who participated in PAWS for GAWS have helped us continue to deliver our vital work and promote responsible pet ownership.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
