MORE than 5,000 people are expected to dance their way down the Great Ocean Road and attend the Aireys Inlet Music Festival.<\/p>\n
Next weekend’s event will feature a unique and diverse blend of acts who will play across various venues in the coastal hamlet.<\/p>\n
This year’s line-up will include Kutcha Edwards, CW Stoneking, The Vasco Era, Queenie, Hana, local band Insufficient Funds and more.<\/p>\n
The entertainment will all kick off on Friday, March 14, with musicians playing at the Aireys Inlet General Store, Aireys Pub and in the bistro.<\/p>\n
Saturday’s music will span across the same venues, as well as at the Sunnymead Hotel where Sheriff’s Palm Springs Disco Party will be playing.<\/p>\n
Attendees can then wind down on Sunday with music at the Lighthouse Caf\u00e9, The Captain of Aireys and the Aireys Pub.<\/p>\n
C.W. Stoneking and The Casanovas will round out the festival from 4.15pm onwards at the Aireys Pub.<\/p>\n
Festival director Patrick Donovan said the team had worked to secure an outstanding line-up.<\/p>\n
“It’s really exciting. We’ve got a grant from the state government which has elevated our line-up further.<\/p>\n
“You’ll see a lot more 10-piece bands rather than three-piece bands as a result.<\/p>\n
“There’s so much colour on this line-up. Its a sonic palatte of the different styles of music. There’s rock and roll, hip hop, afrobeats, and folk, flamenco and so many more.<\/p>\n
“We’ve tried to pick what we think are the best bands in the genres. We can’t wait.”<\/p>\n
Insufficient Funds lead singer Indy Wylie said the band was pumped to start off the festival with a huge show.<\/p>\n
“I’m so excited. Doing gigs where you live is so cool.<\/p>\n
“We want to get as many people as possible here from all age demographics. We all get along with each other so well down here.<\/p>\n
“For the band, we’ve just released our EP. It’s all fresh and its great timing to have the festival now.”<\/p>\n
Tickets for the whole weekend are $70.<\/p>\n
