THE Victorian government has funded construction of a new modular kindergarten in Armstrong Creek.<\/p>\n
The Building Blocks Capacity Building Grant will go towards delivering a three-room modular kindergarten including play spaces, car parking and landscaping, and a maternal and child health room.<\/p>\n
The new kinder, which will be built at Bloinkes Community Centre in Armstrong Creek, will offer up to 178 kindergarten places, with the City of Greater Geelong funding an additional community room and amenities.<\/p>\n
Building Blocks Capacity Building Grants support the early learning sector to build new facilities, or expand existing infrastructure, to create additional kindergarten places for three- and four-year-olds across Victoria.<\/p>\n
Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney announced the grant on Thursday last week.<\/p>\n
“This is fantastic news for Armstrong Creek families,” she said.<\/p>\n
“This new kinder will provide much-needed places for our growing community, giving local kids the best start to their education in a safe, modern, and nurturing environment.”<\/p>\n
“This investment means more local families will have access to high-quality early learning close to home. It’s about setting our kids up for success – both in the classroom and in life – while supporting local families and the broader community.”<\/p>\n
The Victorian government says it has invested more than $235 million in planning, building and upgrading early childhood services across the state since Building Blocks was launched in 2020.<\/p>\n
