BIRREGURRA Recreation Reserve will get better facilities if the Coalition wins the coming federal election, with Wannon Liberal federal member Dan Tehan making a $450,000 commitment yesterday (Sunday, March 23).<\/p>\n
Mr Tehan visited the reserve to announce the Liberals would put the funding towards the construction of new female change rooms, which would ensure women and girls have the facilities they need to participate in local sport.<\/p>\n
The Birregurra Recreation Reserve Committee of Management has also pledged $50,000 towards the project.<\/p>\n
Mr Tehan said he had fought for the investment to provide much-needed change rooms and amenities for female footballers, cricketers, netballers, and the broader community.<\/p>\n
“Birregurra residents have shared with me that our local female athletes need better facilities to support their participation in sport.<\/p>\n
