ENTRIES are now open for one of the region’s favourite “feel good ultra” marathons.<\/p>\n

The Surf Coast Century returns for its 14th edition later this year.<\/p>\n

The event will give participants the opportunity to explore 100km of beautiful landscapes through Anglesea, Torquay, Aireys Inlet and Moggs Creek.<\/p>\n

Competitors can enjoy towering sea cliffs, remote beaches and wildflower hinterlands throughout their journey.<\/p>\n

There will be both individual and teams racing, as well as a shorter course 50km marathon.<\/p>\n

Sam Maffett from race organiser Rapid Ascent said the event has earned its reputation as one of Australia’s premier ultra trail events.<\/p>\n

“The courses’ backdrop is in such a beautiful part of Australia, and it really does add to the runners’ overall experience out there.<\/p>\n

“It’s the memories being made, the camaraderie on course, and the goals achieved that are a true highlight for all our competitors and supporters.<\/p>\n

The event is often referred to as a bucket-list event for ultra trail runners, with past participants and previous winners sharing fond memories of the race.<\/p>\n

“The course was so beautiful and stunning with so many different types of terrain! The sand, mud, hills, downhills, ocean views, and the forest sections with all the ferns; it’s all so incredible,” 2024 event winner Holly Ranson said.<\/p>\n

“This event lived up to its premises: amazing scenery, great course and fantastic camaraderie and volunteers. That sunrise was just out of this world; I loved every minute of the 100k event,” 2023 participant Lonneke said.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Surf Coast Century will be held on September 13.<\/p>\n
