MORE than 3,000 people will put pedal to the metal next weekend and compete in the Great Ocean and Otway Classic Ride.<\/p>\n

Recreational cyclists will ride along one of the world’s most famous roads to raise vital funds for the Peter MaCallum Cancer Foundation.<\/p>\n

Starting and finishing in Torquay, cyclists will head through Moriac, Deans Marsh, Skenes Creek and Lorne before turning back to Torquay.<\/p>\n

Racers can participate in one of three distances \u2013 60km, 145km or 204km.<\/p>\n

All funds raised will go towards the development of new treatment, enhance early detection methods and provide essential support to patients and their families.<\/p>\n

Race director Jordan O’Neill from 02 Events said they were excited to be bringing the event back to the region.<\/p>\n

“This spectacular ride showcases the breathtaking coastal scenery while also supporting vital cancer research through our partnership with Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation.<\/p>\n

“The Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride is a significant event for the Surf Coast region, with Torquay and surrounding coastal towns providing the ideal location for a weekend away for riders and their friends\/families with plenty of activities to enjoy.”<\/p>\n
