Since then, the show has evolved with new arrangements added over the years as the band\u2019s catalogue has grown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"824\">Led by Tim Freedman and conducted by Nicholas Buc, the MSO will bring a full symphonic treatment to the band&#8217;s career-spanning setlist, including timeless favourites \u201cNo Aphrodisiac\u201d and \u201cBlow Up the Pokies\u201d, as well as newer tracks from 2022\u2019s <em data-start=\"791\" data-end=\"799\">Sancho<\/em> and 2024\u2019s <em data-start=\"811\" data-end=\"823\">Kookaburra<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"824\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-113434 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2025\/04\/The-Whitlams_MSO_1200x800_banner-1-1024x683.jpg?_t=1744262295\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"1044\">The performance will also feature string arrangements by the late Peter Sculthorpe and contributions from acclaimed Australian composers Benjamin Northey, Brett Dean, Iain Grandage, Daniel Denholm, and Jamie Messenger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1132\">Tim Freedman said the collaboration with the MSO was a rare and cherished opportunity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1254\">\u201cOnce every seven years we get to perform in the middle of the beautiful storm of an 80-piece orchestra,\u201d Freedman said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1256\" data-end=\"1428\">\u201cThis time it&#8217;s with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in Australia&#8217;s best sounding room, Hamer Hall. I&#8217;m counting down the days to what will be a really memorable evening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1430\" data-end=\"1630\">The Whitlams&#8217; last three Melbourne tours sold out venues including The Forum, The Northcote Theatre, and The Corner Hotel.
