COMMUNITY members are being urged to stay clear of Demons Bluff Beach in Anglesea due to substantial cracks in the cliff face.<\/p>\n

Recent aerial images have shown a cliff collapse could be possible at any time.<\/p>\n

Demons Bluff Beach remains permanently closed due to the significant public safety risk landslips pose at the site.<\/p>\n

No one should enter the area either at beach level or access the cliff tops outside of the Surf Cost Walk, which remains safe to use.<\/p>\n

Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authotity (GORCAPA) reserves manager Caleb Hurrell said safety was the top priority during school holidays and the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach event.<\/p>\n

“This is a reminder for all residents and visitors in our region to stay on designated tracks and never walk or sit underneath cliffs.<\/p>\n

“As captivating as our cliffs and coves are, they conceal hidden dangers, and we want everyone to stay safe by following four simple steps \u2013 stay away from cliffs and caves, stick to established tracks, follow the signs, and spread the word.”<\/p>\n

To monitor the risks, Parks Victoria and the Authority continue to undertake regular geotechnical assessments of the area.<\/p>\n
