GREAT Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority\u2019s inaugural chief executive Jodie Sizer has this week resigned her position from the land management body.<\/p>\n
The reason for her decision is not yet known.<\/p>\n
Andy Mathers, GORCAPA\u2019s director of community, corporate affairs and visitor economy is now serving as acting CEO.<\/p>\n
Christine Ferguson, who recently concluded a six-month stint as a state government-appointed municipal monitor to the Colac Otway Shire council, will assume the role of interim CEO from Monday, April 28, while the organisation commences a search for a new boss.<\/p>\n
Ms Sizer was appointed to the role in 2021, shortly after the formation of the organisation and over the past four years has helped guide the consolidation and unification of land management along the Great Ocean Road.<\/p>\n
Previously, this responsibility was divided between 11 different entities.<\/p>\n
In a statement earlier today (Thursday, April 17), GORCAPA board chair Libby Mears acknowledged Ms Sizer\u2019s contribution to the organisation, and her leadership through what Ms Mears described as an \u201cimportant period of growth and transition\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cJodie has played a significant part in establishing the organisation\u2019s foundations, engaging with community groups and traditional owners, and shaping our strategic direction during our formative years,\u201d Ms Mears said.<\/p>\n
