GEELONG Football Club director James Sutherland has advised the Cats board he will be stepping down from his position.<\/p>\n
Sutherland has been part of the board of directors at the club for the past six years, joining in October 2019.<\/p>\n
He has played a key role in the club’s strong off-field position, having served as a key director as well as on the club’s finance and audit committee.<\/p>\n
Sutherland said he appreciated the opportunity to serve the Cats.<\/p>\n
“My tenure on the Cats’ board has coincided with several significant milestones in our club’s history.<\/p>\n
“I feel very fortunate to have been at the club during the introduction and integration of the Cats AFLW team, the completion of the Stage 5 redevelopment, and of course the 2022 AFL premiership.<\/p>\n
“It has been an honour and a privilege to serve on the board. As a lifelong Cats fan, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity.”<\/p>\n
Geelong Cats president Grant McCabr thanked Sutherland for his contrubitions.<\/p>\n
“James is a highly respected business leader in the sports industry, and the club has benefited from the breadth and experience James has brought to his role on the board.<\/p>\n
