MORE than 30 local surfers will compete in this weekend’s final round of the Victorian Junior Surfing Titles on Phillip Island.<\/p>\n

Competitors will be putting it all on the line in their bid to secure state champion honours and a spot on the Victorian state team for the Australian Titles later this year.<\/p>\n

Among those throwing on the guernsey are reigning state champion Jerry Kelly (Barwon Heads), Heidi and Ava Abetz (Jan Juc), Jarvis Barrow (Torquay) and Stevie O’Day (Torquay).<\/p>\n

Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson wished competitors luck in the event.<\/p>\n

“We are excited to bring the final round of the No TXT No Wrecks Victorian Junior Surfing Titles to Phillip Island.<\/p>\n

“The region plays host to the Rip Curl Gromsearch each year and has been the location of Australian Titles over the years so it is the perfect place to finalise the Victorian state team and crown state champions.<\/p>\n

“The area has so many great waves and we are looking forward to seeing the best groms in the state compete for the state title.”<\/p>\n
