An amazing effort.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was such a beautiful day. We got the chance to hear from our community ambassadors too.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One of our ambassadors Albane is currently going through treatment and raised the most among Geelong participants with over $4,000. A fantastic effort.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/05\/IMG_3171_84397.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The event raised vital funds for breast cancer and ovarian cancer research.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Albane said she thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Each year, I run the 8km Mother&#8217;s Day Classic in Geelong in honour of my mum and everyone affected by breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This year, due to the fatigue from treatment, I was only able to walk the 4km but I still had the best time!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Many of my friends surprised me and joined me on the walk! Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ms Foy said all eyes are on making the event even bigger in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know years ago when it was on the waterfront it used to hit 5,000, and then COVID hit!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s had a bit of a hiatus and is now building up again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s getting up there, hopefully we can make it a bit bigger again.
