SINCE 2013, Ocean Grind has been roasting and supplying specialty coffee for homes, cafes and shops along the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n

Their new roastery and caf\u00e9 space is a popular haven away from the busier parts of Torquay.<\/p>\n

Enjoy their beautiful coffee alongside a range of sweet treats, toasties and wraps.<\/p>\n

Customers can sit inside their vast warehouse space or the undercover dog-friendly area outside.<\/p>\n

Quality is the main priority here as they strive to showcase their product. The friendly team also loves chatting with customers about their home coffee needs.<\/p>\n

Owner and head roaster Mark Clatworthy explains: “We like to make coffee approachable for everyone and help advise people how to improve their coffee at home, as well as encouraging customers to try different blends or brew methods.”<\/p>\n

The shop area contains their full range of coffee blends, which can be ground on the spot to suit machines at home.<\/p>\n

Plus they sell a range of coffee making equipment and accessories for the home.<\/p>\n

They are also about to relaunch their “home barista” training workshops, so keep an eye on their social media for updates.<\/p>\n

Besides their passion for coffee, Ocean Grind has a strong sustainability ethos, having invested in a Loring air roaster that uses 80 per cent less CO2 than a traditional roaster – resulting in “cleaner” tasting coffee that is also cleaner for the environment. They successfully ditched single-use coffee cups in 2019 and also encourage customers to use BYO containers for coffee bean refills (get a $1 discount). Plus all their used coffee grinds are re-purposed for gardens.<\/p>\n

Ocean Grind is located at 2 Sawmills Way, Torquay and is open Monday to Friday 7am to 2pm and Saturdays 8am to 1pm.<\/p>\n
