{"id":163511,"date":"2025-06-17T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-16T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=163511"},"modified":"2025-06-11T17:35:24","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T07:35:24","slug":"discovering-how-ai-can-help-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/discovering-how-ai-can-help-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Discovering how AI can help business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>REGIONAL Development Australia (RDA) Melbourne will host an AI Forum in Torquay next week to explore AI and how it can be used for small and medium-sized businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring a line-up of guest speakers, industry experts and practical examples, the forum will demonstrate how businesses are using the technology to add value to their operations.<\/p>\n<p>Supported by the RDA Barwon South West and Department of Jobs, Skills, Industries and Regions, the forum will also include break-out sessions to learn critical skills through case studies and demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>A Lara-based seedling supplier who has grown to become one of the country&#8217;s largest will also share their experiences and learnings at the forum.<\/p>\n<p>Findings from the National AI Centre (NAIC) show there is a divide in AI readiness among Australian businesses, and a need to tailor strategies to boost understanding and adoption.<\/p>\n<p>Research from the NAIC also showed 40 per cent of small and medium sized businesses are adopting AI, while 21 per cent are unaware of how to use the technology.<\/p>\n<p>Boomaroo Nurseries is developing an AI strategy to improve quality and productivity across its sites and to develop an energy heating system at its Lara site to allow the boilers to turn on when needed, rather than running all the time.<\/p>\n<p>The business&#8217;s chief executive officer Peter Smith will present at the forum and share his challenges, benefits and realities of adopting AI.<\/p>\n<p>Leading expert in digital strategy and AI, Rita Arrigo will also present, providing national perspectives on the opportunities and adoption of AI in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>RACV Torquay Resort will host the forum on June 20.<\/p>\n<p>For tickets and more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/rdv.vic.gov.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rdv.vic.gov.au<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REGIONAL Development Australia (RDA) Melbourne will host an AI Forum in Torquay next week to explore AI and how it can be used for small and medium-sized businesses.
