LOCALS and visitors are urged to stay away from Demons Bluff in Anglesea following a recent collapse of a significant section of cliff.<\/p>\n

A recent coastal monitoring routine drone flight from the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority confirmed approximately 20m of cliff had collapsed.<\/p>\n

The incident highlights the ongoing instability of the area and the very real risk posed by frequent landslips and cliff falls.<\/p>\n

The beach at Demons Bluff has been permanently closed since 2021 due to the high risk of erosion and collapse.<\/p>\n

GORCAPA coastal operations manager Caleb Hurrell said these cliffs are dynamic and unpredictable, especially with strong winds and wet weather in the forecast.<\/p>\n

“Even when the area appears calm, the risk is still very real.<\/p>\n

“A cliff collapse can occur suddenly and without any visible signs beforehand.”<\/p>\n

Patrons are asked to respect all signage and barriers in place, and to keep well clear of both the base and top of the cliffs at Demons Bluff.<\/p>\n

The site will continue to be monitored closely.<\/p>\n
