she said.<\/p>\n<p>Locally, the Armstrong Creek growth area \u2013 which encompasses the surrounding towns of Mount Dunned, Charlemont and parts of Marshall and Grovedale \u2013 has experienced a rapid increase in population in recent years, fuelled in large part by strategic development, with the area expected to eventually house between 55,000 and 65,000 people in 22,000 dwellings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-164264\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/07\/ArmstrongCreekVIC_1_94079_tn-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/07\/ArmstrongCreekVIC_1_94079_tn-1.png 600w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/07\/ArmstrongCreekVIC_1_94079_tn-1-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Aerial images captured a decade apart by Australian location intelligence company Nearmap reveal the transformation, driven by shifting migration patterns, of these once-undeveloped suburbs.<\/p>\n<p>M&#8217;Shenda Turner, the firm&#8217;s senior director of survey and geospatial content operations, said Geelong&#8217;s rise as the country&#8217;s leading regional migration destination had come as no surprise.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Its coastal lifestyle, strong job market and proximity to Melbourne continue to attract new residents,&#8221;
