Torquay pounced to a 42-point away win against Barwon Heads in Round 11, with the final score 18.13 (121) to 12.9 (79).<\/p>\n
A home clash against the Demons at McCartney Oval at 2.10pm tomorrow (Saturday, June 28) is their next assignment.<\/p>\n
After losing their opening two games to Geelong Amateur and Newcomb, the Tigers have steadied to win seven of their past nine encounters.<\/p>\n
“The early games that we did drop, we were missing quite a few out with injury and we were just getting new players in new positions and just finding our feet, really,” Gleeson said.<\/p>\n
“But for the past month, we’ve been regaining a bit of confidence in our group and we’re finding that we’re just giving people more opportunity in certain positions and it seems to be settling us.”<\/p>\n
He praised co-captains Ben McNamara and James Darke.<\/p>\n
“They’re just superb and then everyone’s following.”<\/p>\n
