{"id":164479,"date":"2025-06-29T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-28T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=164479"},"modified":"2025-06-27T16:10:37","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T06:10:37","slug":"lipson-helps-deliver-skating-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/lipson-helps-deliver-skating-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Lipson helps deliver skating success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TORQUAY physiotherapist Holly Lipson has helped Australia kickflip their way to the top at the Skate Street World Cup in Rome.<\/p>\n<p>During the week-long event, Lipson was responsible for warm-ups and for providing any needed treatment and attention to injuries.<\/p>\n<p>She said it was a pleasure to be part of the team&#8217;s success, which included a gold medal for super talent Chloe Covell.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was such a good trip, and a really good result for Chloe getting the win.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/06\/c49edc12-_99993.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lipson provided treatment and any attention to injuries for the Australian skate team.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;This was the first of three world cups for the year. It&#8217;s kind of year one again after the Olympics. It&#8217;s all starting again and there&#8217;s some great young and veteran athletes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She said the backdrop of the Colosseum was a wild sight while competitors took to the course.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You were literally 250m from the Colosseum right there in downtown Rome.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a good but tricky course; the competitors have competed there a few times.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/06\/85b6663b-_99931.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The event took place in front of the iconic Colosseum.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Over the past 10 years, Ms Lipson has been a physiotherapist for the Australian Para Alpine Team, Skeleton Team, Australian Aerials Team and individual winter sport athletes at various events.<\/p>\n<p>When home in Torquay, she practises at Grand Slam Physiotherapy on the Surf Coast Highway.<\/p>\n<p>As a sub-contractor, Lipson is hopeful of working again with Skate Australia at the Olympic qualifiers next year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was my first trip with Skate Australia. It was such a great team, and the support staff were awesome. I really enjoyed it,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There were two coaches, Chloe&#8217;s father, an athlete wellness and engagement officer, and a team manager.
