{"id":166065,"date":"2025-07-27T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-26T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=166065"},"modified":"2025-07-25T13:18:44","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T03:18:44","slug":"swing-a-new-deal-at-lorne-cafe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/swing-a-new-deal-at-lorne-cafe\/","title":{"rendered":"Swing a new deal at Lorne caf\u00e9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EXPRESSIONS of interest are being sought for hospitality vendors looking to make their mark on one of Australia&#8217;s most famous coastal locations.<\/p>\n<p>The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA) is seeking applications to lease the Lorne Swing Bridge Caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Located at the mouth of the Erskine River, the caf\u00e9 is a much-loved institution for locals and visitors alike.<\/p>\n<p>GORCAPA is offering a 15-year lease for the site, giving the r<\/p>\n<p>ight operator the chance to bring new energy and ideas to the landmark.<\/p>\n<p>GORCAPA director of community, corporate affairs and visitor economy Andy Mathers said running a caf\u00e9 in a place like this is a dream for many.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not just a business opportunity \u2013 it&#8217;s a chance to become part of a thriving local community and one of the most spectacular coastal landscapes in the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is more than a caf\u00e9.
