THE Geelong Cats AFLW coaching ranks have received a huge boost, with former AFL player Nathan Brown joining the club.<\/p>\n
The 183-gamer for Collingwood and St Kilda has come on board as a midfield coach and will work alongside other assistants and senior coach Dan Lowther.<\/p>\n
Brown played 130 games for the Magpies including the 2010 premiership win, before playing a further 53 games for St Kilda.<\/p>\n
Since retiring, Brown has had a strong focus and passion for coaching and player development, taking on a key role at The Geelong College.<\/p>\n
He became the Director of Football and Performance Pathways in 2023 and oversees both female and male football programs.<\/p>\n
This includes providing support and management of high-performance student athletes and their parents across all sports, including leadership and culture development.<\/p>\n
Geelong Cats head of AFLW Dominique Condo welcomed the addition of Brown to the coaching ranks.<\/p>\n
“Led by Dan, we’re really pleased to welcome Nathan and Tom [Atkins] to our program, and we are excited to see them work alongside Elise, Andrew, David and our wider football program in 2025,” she said.<\/p>\n
“Nathan joins us with wonderful coaching experience and his football CV speaks for itself.<\/p>\n
“He has built great coaching knowledge through his time at Geelong College leading their football and pathways program and we can’t wait to see the influence he can have on our group in 2025.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
