WE NEED your input to shape the future of sports and play at the planned Coastside Drive Recreation Reserve in Armstrong Creek.<\/p>\n

This reserve will become a vital piece of sports and recreation infrastructure for this growth area, and we need your feedback to ensure it meets the community’s needs and expectations.<\/p>\n

The draft Coastside Drive Recreation Reserve Master Plan covers 13.5 hectares of land situated on the corner of Coastside Drive and Horseshoe Bend Road.<\/p>\n

Once complete, this reserve will cater to 2,600 people living within a ten-minute walk and 35,000 residents within a ten-minute drive.<\/p>\n

We want this to be a local community hub for active recreation, sports and play, blending high-quality facilities with the natural environment.<\/p>\n

Key proposals include a district-level play space and multipurpose fields for soccer, cricket and other sports.<\/p>\n

A pavilion would offer undercover spectator viewing, as well as change rooms and public toilet amenities.<\/p>\n

Club rooms and multipurpose spaces could cater to future sporting clubs and serve as meeting places for community groups.<\/p>\n

A 150-space carpark on the western side of the reserve is also included in the draft to ensure residents in the growth area can travel to enjoy this facility.<\/p>\n

The master plan features an integrated shared path network connecting different areas of the reserve while providing active thoroughfares between the surrounding neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n

A shared bicycle and pedestrian path is proposed to run from north to south, connecting Warralily Boulevard and Horseshoe Bend Road.<\/p>\n

The network aims to promote physical connectivity while preserving the existing vegetation along the Horseshoe Bend Drive side of the reserve.<\/p>\n

We are investing $18.4 million into the planning and implementation of this important project, which will contribute greatly to one of the fastest growing areas within our region.<\/p>\n

The master plan also identifies spaces for a community hub, a school and residential and commercial development, however these sit outside the scope of this investment.<\/p>\n

The school is currently being constructed and is due to open in 2026, along with the community hub next door.<\/p>\n

The planned Coastside Drive Recreation Reserve is about more than just physical activity; it’s about fostering social connection and community.<\/p>\n

Whether you’re cheering on a local team from the pavilion, enjoying a casual game on the fields or taking a stroll along the shared paths with your neighbour, we want this reserve to be a vibrant hub for the Armstrong Creek community.<\/p>\n

With so many residents living in proximity to this reserve, we know it will become a key facility for the region.<\/p>\n

To balance the needs of our residents, we are seeking your input for the draft before Council reviews the final version of the master plan later this year.<\/p>\n
