THE Rock2Ramp celebrates 30 years later this year, and organisers have their sights set on making it the biggest in the event’s history.<\/p>\n

Entries are now open for the iconic swimming event, with the hope of drawing more than 1,000 swimmers to the shores of Anglesea.<\/p>\n

The race will have four course lengths for athletes of all levels, including the kids dash, the 600m, 1.2km main event and the 2.5km marathon.<\/p>\n

Funds raised from the event will go towards ensuring the Anglesea SLSC can continue to deliver exceptional surf lifesaving services.<\/p>\n

Race director Tom Cullen said it is an amazing feeling to be approaching three decades of open ocean swimming on the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n

“It’s pretty amazing to get to 30\u2026 there’s not many swims that have been going that long\u2026 we are incredibly excited.<\/p>\n

“The people are what has gotten us to where we are now\u2026 we pride ourselves on being really friendly.<\/p>\n

“We’ve got some people who have done all 30 swims\u2026 100 swimmers have done at least ten or more\u2026 that commitment and support is fantastic.”<\/p>\n

Mr Cullen said the plan was to have the biggest field in the event’s history in 2025.<\/p>\n

“We set a record last year with just over 1,100 swimmers. We will be approaching it hoping for something over 1,000 once again!<\/p>\n

“The 1.2km usually draws the majority of the swimmers, and last year we had the dash for cash which helped to draw some more high-profile swimmers into the event.<\/p>\n

“Whether you’re a swimmer or other people getting down, it’s worth coming down to enjoy Point Roadknight and the Great Ocean Road.”<\/p>\n

The 2025 Rock2Ramp will be held on December 28.<\/p>\n
