One of Australia’s most mysterious bluesmen C.W. Stoneking is set to bring his unmistakable sound to Barwon Heads this month.<\/p>\n

The Australian singer-songwriter will be performing some of his critically acclaimed tunes and plenty more on September 13 at the Barwon Heads Hotel.<\/p>\n

Hailing from Katherine in the Northern Territory, C.W. Stoneking has carved a unique musical path channeled by the spirit of early 20th century blues, New Orleans jazz, calypso, gospel and beyond.<\/p>\n

Across more than two decades in music, the 51-year-old has independently released three full length albums – King Hokum, Jungle Blues and Gon’ Boogaloo.<\/p>\n

All three albums were crowned Best Independent Blues and Roots Album at the AIR Awards, while success also followed at the ARIA Awards, with two titles in 2009 and 2015.<\/p>\n

C.W. Stoneking is a two-time Best Male Artist award winner at the Music Victoria Awards and has been nominated twice for the Australian Music Prize.<\/p>\n

The Australian is well revered in the music industry, with many singing his praises over the years.<\/p>\n

BBC 6 Radio presenter Tom Waits said C.W Stoneking has “a style of his own”, while Jack White was quoted on Double J saying he sounds like “he’s from a ghost ship in the middle of monster island to me. It’s just beautiful”.<\/p>\n

Joining C.W. Stoneking on the Barwon Heads event bill will be Australian outlaw country musician Freya Josephine Hollick.<\/p>\n
