THE Surf Coast Shire has awarded 14 local projects funding as part of this year’s Quick Response Grants program.<\/p>\n

A competitive submissions process determined the recipients, with mental health, community gardening and emergency response projects among those to receive funding of up to $3,000.<\/p>\n

Cr Tony Phelps congratulated all the successful applicants.<\/p>\n

“We hope these grants, with quick turnaround time, can make significant differences across a great range of projects,” he said.<\/p>\n

“The submissions received represented so much good work going on in our community.”<\/p>\n

Art of the Minds, Deans Marsh Community Cottage, Torquay and District Landcare, Ocean Mind and Torquay Netball Club were among those to receive funding.<\/p>\n

The Surf Coast Shire’s Quick Response Grants program is designed to assist community groups and organisations to fund equipment, upgrades or replacements.<\/p>\n

Unsuccessful applicants have received information on other ways they might be able to seek support for their projects, including the council’s September grants round which is now open.<\/p>\n
