HOOP Gallery will showcase the work of two distinctive artists this month, with parallel exhibitions by Anglesea artist Chris Nash and contemporary jeweller Bin Dixon-Ward open in Torquay.<\/p>\n

Nash’s exhibition, Objects as Identity – Pathways to Second Chances<\/em>, features dark sculptural assemblages that explore shape, light and shadow.<\/p>\n

Evoking a sense of calm and curiosity, each piece invites the audience to reflect on how their identity has been shaped by their experiences.<\/p>\n

In contrast, Dixon-Ward’s Fruity La La<\/em> presents a playful and colourful jewellery collection crafted from reclaimed plastic waste.<\/p>\n

The series reimagines the term “fruity” in a positive sense, celebrating LGBTQIA+ identity through bold and meaningful wearable art.<\/p>\n

Hoop Gallery president Virginia Aldred said the artists “contribute to our cultural narratives” in ways that “will resonate far beyond the gallery walls”.<\/p>\n

“Hoop Gallery invites art lovers, local residents and visitors from across the region to experience this vibrant and eye-catching exhibition. Come and discover the expansive, the beautiful and the innovative.”<\/p>\n

The exhibitions will run until November 2.<\/p>\n

“These two exhibitions are another outstanding opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the talent, dedication and creative achievements of our local artists.” Aldred said.<\/p>\n
