SURF Coast motorists will soon be able to compare real-time fuel prices through a new Service Victoria app feature designed to save money at the pump.<\/p>\n
Almost 1,300 retailers across the state have signed up to mandatory fuel price reporting regulations that came into effect in August ahead of the app’s official launch later this year.<\/p>\n
Consumer Affairs Minister Nick Staikos said the new fuel finder tool would make it easier for drivers to plan where and when they fill up.<\/p>\n
“Under our plan, you’ll be able to find out tomorrow’s fuel price at every single servo on your route to work and make your decisions accordingly,” he said.<\/p>\n
Consumer Affairs Victoria officers have been visiting service stations across the state to help owners understand their new obligations and ensure they are ready to report prices in real time.<\/p>\n
Minister for Government Services Natalie Hutchins said most retailers were already compliant.<\/p>\n
“This will save Victorians money and time, and I’m thrilled that we have so many retailers ready to report fuel prices ahead of launch later this year,” she said.<\/p>\n
Member for Southern Metropolitan Region Ryan Batchelor said the high level of compliance showed strong industry support.<\/p>\n
