HUNDREDS of local women’s surfers will descend on Lorne next month for the second edition of the Great Ocean Road Women’s Surf Festival.<\/p>\n

The all-inclusive event will provide opportunities for surfers from all backgrounds and experience to come together and celebrate their love for surfing and the ocean.<\/p>\n

The full event program features plenty of fun both in and out of the water.<\/p>\n

A fun social surf competition will be held on November 16 and is sure to be one of the highlights, as it will feature divisions for all ages and surfers.<\/p>\n

Free workshops will take place across the weekend in the Torquay Dental Surfers Hub including a Q&A with 2025 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach champion Isabella Nichols, a Waves of Change club symposium, and a Women in Surfing panel show.<\/p>\n

Local surf camp operator Honu Honi will host an Understanding your Cycle in Surfing event, alongside surf forecasting, surf etiquette and coastal yoga.<\/p>\n

Surf Coast Women’s Health Group will host their own physical health and surfing workshop.<\/p>\n

Go Ride a Wave will be running learn to surf sessions, while Surf Her Way will be holding an intermediate coaching surf sessions for surfers looking to progress their surfing.<\/p>\n

The Lorne Swell Market will also be a showstopper with a wide feature of local produce providers, artists and surf stalls from across the state.<\/p>\n

Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson said they were thrilled to be bringing the festival back for a second year.<\/p>\n

“The festival is a fantastic celebration of all things women in surfing, community, progression, and connection to the ocean.<\/p>\n

“Whether it’s a Q&A with Rip Curl Pro champion Isabella Nichols, a learn to surf lesson or checking out the free festival market, there is something for everyone to get involved in.”<\/p>\n

Surf Coast Shire mayor Mike Bodsworth said it was fantastic to see the event making a return.<\/p>\n

“I love local events like this that bring people together to take in our stunning natural environment.<\/p>\n

“The festival celebrates our status as a surfing destination, no matter what your skill level is.<\/p>\n

“Beginner surfers will have a rare opportunity to rub shoulders with reigning Rip Curl Pro champion Isabella Nicholls, which is pretty special.”<\/p>\n

Honu Honi owner Becky Goshnick said the business couldn’t wait to play a key role in delivering a successful weekend in Lorne.<\/p>\n
