THE Borough of Queenscliffe has made some key changes to the Destination Queenscliff project in response to community feedback.<\/p>\n
At its Ordinary Meeting last week, the council decided to refine, enhance and reinstate the Bullring, to respect its experience and character, and locate the proposed new kiosk in the immediate vicinity of the existing kiosk location, at a size comparative to the current kiosk size, and incorporating public toilets.<\/p>\n
It will also retain six lodges in accordance with the formal funding agreement between council and the federal government under the National Stronger Regions Fund, ensuring the lodges are contained within the footprint of the Queenscliff Recreation Reserve and reducing the height of the lodges above existing ground level, while minimising any impact on privacy within and views from the lodges.<\/p>\n
Mayor Susan Salter said the council had listened to the community, Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson and to Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a result, we have revised elements of the Destination Queenscliff project to address recent feedback,\u201d Cr Salter said.<\/p>\n
Council will now work with the Destination Queenscliff design consultants to prepare a revised concept plan, in line with council\u2019s resolution.<\/p>\n
