WITH 25 members and generating referrals in excess of $1 million between its members in the last financial year, a local networking group in Torquay is one of the leading referral groups of its kind along the Surf Coast area.<\/p>\n

The BNI Coastal Connections group has a diverse membership of small business owners and operators from real estate, graphic design, insurance brokers and photography, to financial planners, osteo, physio and podiatry services, conveyancing and travel planning, with a business coach and trades such as plumbing, electrical, handyman services and building inspection all represented.<\/p>\n

Each member is active in their community and passionate about improving business connections within the region.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the group is to help members increase their business through a structured and professional referral marketing program that enables them to develop long-term, meaningful relationships with quality local business professionals.<\/p>\n

Through weekly meetings and member presentations, members build a solid foundation of understanding of each other\u2019s business, making this group an effective network that results in thousands of dollars of referral business passed between its members.<\/p>\n

Torquay BNI president Grace Byrnes said that being part of a community of motivated professionals and keeping business local has seen regional membership double in the past few years.<\/p>\n
