THREE Geelong Falcons products have realised their childhood dreams, with Josh Lindsay, Tobyn Murray and Hugo Mikunda all hearing their names called in this week\u2019s AFL National Draft.<\/p>\n
Lindsay was the first Falcon selected, taken by West Coast with pick 19 in the opening round on Wednesday this week.<\/p>\n
The Newtown & Chilwell junior and Geelong Grammar alumni is renowned for his elite kicking skills, and widely rated as the best kick and decision-maker of his class.<\/p>\n
His poise and impactful ball use was used across both half back and the midfield in his junior career, and earned him a spot in the under-18 All Australian and Coates Talent League teams of the year.<\/p>\n
Lindsday\u2019s versatility will be a key asset for the Eagles as they seek to climb the ladder after consecutive wooden spoons. The Eagles also selected Gippsland Power midfielder Willem Duursma with pick one and Calder Cannons\u2019 Cooper Duff-Tytler with pick four.<\/p>\n
Former Falcon Tobyn Murray was selected by Fremantle with pick 40, completing an impressive rise after being overlooked in last year\u2019s mid-season draft.<\/p>\n
The Colac talent broke out at VFL level this season, kicking 22 goals from 17 games with Geelong\u2019s VFL side.<\/p>\n
Bell Park product Hugo Mikunda rounded out the trio, taken by North Melbourne with pick 48 yesterday (Thursday, November 20) following a standout top-age campaign that included appearances for the Falcons, Victoria Country and Werribee in the VFL.<\/p>\n
Standing at 181 cm tall, Mikunda impressed scouts across half forward with his sharp foot skills and creative ball use.<\/p>\n
