Photo: KIER OSBOURNE.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s best marathon kayak paddler Rebecca Mann swapped her K1 for a surf ski to comfortably win the women&#8217;s elite category, while Casey Haynes won the men&#8217;s class.<\/p>\n<p>For only the second time in the event&#8217;s history, organisers reversed the direction of the race, with easterly winds meaning a shift to a Barwon Heads starting point rather than Torquay.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/11\/Impossible9_53794.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">More than 50 paddlers took on the Impossible Race from Barwon Heads to Torquay.
