Phone 5264 8207.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUEENSCLIFF<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00bb St Leonards has reports of King George whiting, flathead and squid in numbers<br \/>\n\u00bb Clifton Springs is still seeing reports of whiting, flathead and squid catches<br \/>\n\u00bb Queenscliff has whiting, flathead, pinkies and squid continuing to be reported<br \/>\n\u00bb The creek is said to be producing some small trevally and salmon<br \/>\n\u00bb Swan Bay is still seeing reports of a squid, whiting and a few garfish being caught at the entrance<br \/>\n\u00bb Point Lonsdale has reports of trevally and salmon<br \/>\n\u00bb The White Lady is seeing whiting and squid still being caught<br \/>\n\u00bb Indented Head has reports of flathead, King George whiting and squid continuing.<\/p>\n<p>ANGLERS and seafood lovers celebrating National Gone Fishing Day on Sunday October 14 need look no further than Portarlington for a family-friendly day on the Bellarine Peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville said the free \u2018Hooked on Bellarine\u2019 event will have something for everyone including the chance to hear from the Victorian Fisheries Authority\u2019s (VFA) newest ambassador Bachar Houli from the Richmond Football Club.<\/p>\n<p>Bachar is a keen angler and regularly takes his own boat out with friends and family to explore Victoria\u2019s bays and inlets in search of fresh fish.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by the VFA with support from Bellarine Bayside Coastal Management, the event is funded through the Andrews Labor Government\u2019s Target One Million plan, which is investing a record $46 million to get more people fishing, more often.<\/p>\n<p>Sam Goodwin from Masterchef will be showing off his cooking skills with tasty seafood recipes that everyone can try at home featuring Portarlington-grown mussels and fresh fish.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Habgood from Reel Adventures will be on hand to share fishing tips and secrets on catching more snapper, King George whiting and gummy shark, all fantastic eating species on the dinner table.<\/p>\n<p>For the kids, expert anglers from local fishing clubs will be providing free instruction through several \u2018come and try\u2019 clinics on the day. Learn more at vfa.vic.gov.au\/hookedonbellarine.<\/p>\n<h2>SCHOOL HOLIDAY TROUT BONANZA<\/h2>\n<p>Families can look forward to making the most of spring these school holidays with more than 30,000 catchable size rainbow trout stocked into almost 80 waters state-wide.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Agriculture Jaala Pulford said the stockings were thanks to fishing licence fees and the Andrews Labor Government\u2019s Target One Million plan \u2013 which is investing a record $46 million to get more people fishing, more often.<\/p>\n<p>Rainbow trout are a great species for children and beginners because they\u2019re easy to catch and take a variety of baits and lures.<\/p>\n<p>Stocked family fishing waters provide the perfect opportunity for those new to fishing to give it a go.<\/p>\n<p>Waters to be stocked these school holidays include, St Augustine\u2019s Water Hole in Geelong, Bannockburn Lagoon (Bannockburn) Albert Park Lake, Eildon Pondage, Cobden Lake (Cobden) Lethbridge Lake (Lethbridge) Karkarook Lake in Moorabbin, Lilydale Lake, Morwell Lake, Hyland Lake in Churchill, Pakenham Lake Kennington Reservoir, Darlingsford Lake in Melton, Pertobe Lake and Rowville Lakes.<\/p>\n<p>For the full state-wide list visit vfa.vic.gov.au\/holidaytrout.
