MORE than 400 people are expected to sing their hearts out at the Anglesea Carols later this month.<\/p>\n

Christmas spirit will be in the air for the 46th edition of the Anglesea Lions Club initiative on December 22.<\/p>\n

Following the success of a move indoors in 2024, the event will again be held inside the stadium at Anglesea Primary School.<\/p>\n

Local school and kinder pupils will headline the festivities through song, while there will also be other performances from local musicians.<\/p>\n

Event organiser and Anglesea Lions Club president Adrian Hunter said the organisation was rapt to be back with the much-loved date.<\/p>\n

“We’ve been doing it for 46 years and it continues to be a great way to get the community together to celebrate Christmas.<\/p>\n

“It’s a tradition of Anglesea to go to the carols and we are excited to have the school children and kinder students involved with the festivities.<\/p>\n

“Now that we are having it indoors too, it doesn’t worry us what weather we have, so we are looking forward to that.”<\/p>\n

The event will run from 6.45pm to 8pm.<\/p>\n

Carols events will also run on the Surf Coast in Winchelsea tomorrow (Friday, December 6), in Deans Marsh on December 14 and in Lorne on December 20.<\/p>\n

Surf Coast Shire mayor Libby Stapleton encouraged locals to get out and about and be part of local Christmas carols and events.<\/p>\n

“Grab a picnic rug, bring your favourite people and head to the carols for a beautiful night out celebrating the festive season,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It’s about more than the music – it’s also about bringing people together, spending time in the places we love and celebrating the real beauty of our community.”<\/p>\n
