Geelong’s Premier Women’s Firsts have continued their winning ways since the bye, cruising to victory over Prahran at Toorak Park on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The win makes it three in a row for the Cats, putting them atop the ladder of the one day competition.<\/p>\n
Due to the wet weather on Sunday, the match was conducted under DLS rules.<\/p>\n
Geelong were sent in to bat by the True Blues and faced 39 overs, finishing at an impressive 8\/236 thanks to 61 runs from Bronte Leishman and 50 from Mia Rogers.<\/p>\n
The DLS format gave Prahran a target of 138 from 23 overs, which the Cats successfully defended off the back of an even bowling spread. They finished their innings at 4\/106, 130 runs shy of the Cats’ strong total.<\/p>\n
Jess Field took two wickets in the win, whilst skipper Stephanie Townsend and Bronte Leishman added one each.<\/p>\n
The Seconds also beat the True Blues to improve to 6-2, thanks to an unbeaten 66 from Eve Righetti and three wickets apiece from captain Renee Cox and April Chaudhary.<\/p>\n
In the Thirds, the Cats cruised to a win after openers Eloise Millard and Aisha Hendriks made unbeaten half-centuries. Geelong batted first and finished at 0\/123, before restricting Prahran to just 1\/45 after 17 overs.<\/p>\n
The Firsts will play Box Hill at home this weekend in their last one-day clash of the year, whilst the Seconds and Thirds will face Dandenong.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
