THE latest and last edition of the Surf Coast Community Arts Calendar will be available to pick up from Monday, December 8.<\/p>\n

People can collect free copies from distribution points across Surf Coast Shire and own a piece of creative history, as it will be the final print edition of the calendar.<\/p>\n

The 2026 calendar features 13 works in mediums ranging from watercolour and fine liner pencil to mixed media and ceramics by artists aged from under 12 to adults.<\/p>\n

Works for each of the calendar months were chosen by a judging panel and the cover work by Caroline Lawrey, Winter Sunrise at Urquhart Bluff, topped People’s Choice voting during an Arts Calendar Exhibition at Anglesea Art Space.<\/p>\n

“The works chosen for this year’s calendar beautifully illustrate the breadth of talent across our artistic community,” Cr Leon Walker said.<\/p>\n

“Congratulations to the artists on having been selected from almost 120 entries, particularly our successful entrants in the youth categories.<\/p>\n

“We encourage community members to pick up their free copies of the calendar from our community outlets and enjoy the works for 2026.”<\/p>\n

Calendars will be available at<\/strong><\/p>\n

The shire’s civic office, 1 Merrijig Drive, Torquay<\/p>\n

Anglesea and Aireys Inlet post offices<\/p>\n

Anglesea, Lorne and Torquay Visitor Information Centres<\/p>\n

Anglesea Art House<\/p>\n

Anglesea Art Space<\/p>\n

Deans Marsh and Winchelsea community houses, and<\/p>\n

Moriac General Store.<\/p>\n

The shire is discontinuing the calendar after the 2026 edition and will instead “develop new avenues for nurturing and promoting artistic activity”.<\/p>\n

This will include a refreshed annual community art exhibition and the launch of a new Arts Initiative Program supporting artists to share their work, connect with community and develop their creative practices.<\/p>\n
