	{"id":176408,"date":"2025-12-13T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=176408"},"modified":"2025-12-10T23:46:40","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T12:46:40","slug":"geelong-impress-in-fourth-straight-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/sport\/geelong-impress-in-fourth-straight-win\/","title":{"rendered":"Geelong impress in fourth straight win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GEELONG&#8217;S Premier Women&#8217;s Firsts have continued their winning ways against Box Hill, cruising to a 57-run victory thanks to impressive performances with bat and ball.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday&#8217;s one-day hit out against the Mustangs marked the Cats&#8217; fourth straight victory, keeping them atop the ladder.<\/p>\n<p>Geelong won the toss and opted to bat first, seeing out the entire 50 overs to finish at 8\/234.<\/p>\n<p>Meika King top scored with an unbeaten 50 runs, whilst opener Mia Perrin added 49 in a knock that included eight fours.<\/p>\n<p>The Cats then restricted Box Hill as they looked to chase down their total and bowled them all out for 177 in 40 overs to secure the win.<\/p>\n<p>Aanliya Cheeran took three wickets to put her season total up 17, whilst Bronte Leishman added two of her own.<\/p>\n<p>They will revert back to T20 format for their last three matches of 2025. This weekend, they will travel to face Melbourne, who are yet to lose a game in the short format competition.<\/p>\n<p>An incredible 156-run knock from Noura Abdul Qader saw Geelong&#8217;s Seconds beat Dandenong in a high-scoring affair.<\/p>\n<p>The Cats batted first and made a whopping 274 runs, before bowling the Panthers out for 236 after 43 overs.
