{"id":176841,"date":"2025-12-23T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=176841"},"modified":"2025-12-18T15:15:29","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T04:15:29","slug":"roo-run-races-toward-biggest-year-yet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/roo-run-races-toward-biggest-year-yet\/","title":{"rendered":"Roo Run races toward biggest year yet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ENTRIES are filling fast for this year&#8217;s Roo Run, with only eight days to go before athletes and families hit the start line.<\/p>\n<p>The much-loved Anglesea event returns on December 27 and is shaping up to be its biggest yet, with more than 1,000 participants expected.<\/p>\n<p>Runners and walkers of all abilities can choose from three course options: an 8km run, 4km run, or the Grommets Gallop, a 1.6km beach gallop from the boat ramp to The Point for children aged under 12.<\/p>\n<p>The Janet Jones Classic, an all-abilities event, will again run alongside the Grommets Gallop.<\/p>\n<p>Head organiser Kate Stanley, of Anglesea Discovery Camp, said excitement was building for what is expect to be the largest Roo Run to date.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We can&#8217;t wait for it. This will be our 12th Roo Run,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This event will be piggy-backed off the front of the 30th anniversary of the Rock2Ramp which will happen the next day.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a great event and that&#8217;s why Anglesea Discovery Camp has jumped on board this year, as it promotes everything we believe in by getting people active and enjoying the coastal environment that Anglesea has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We hope to get close to that 1,000 mark this year and feel we are well on our way to achieving that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Last minute entries for the can be submitted at <a href=\"http:\/\/roorun.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">roorun.com.au<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ENTRIES are filling fast for this year&#8217;s Roo Run, with only eight days to go before athletes and families hit the start line.
