LONG-serving local volunteer Kane Treloar has been lauded for his service to the lifesaving movement and awarded the Emergency Services Medal as part of 2026 Australia Day honours.<\/p>\n
The Kennett River, Fairhaven and Williamstown member was nominated for the prestigious honour for “significant and sustained service to Life Saving Victoria and the Victorian community in the area of drowning prevention over a number of decades.”<\/p>\n
The ESM recognises “distinguished service as a member of an Australian emergency service”.<\/p>\n
During his 20 years of service to the sport, Mr Treloar has provided exceptional leadership in the expansion of high-quality lifesaving services right across Victoria.<\/p>\n
He has held a number of senior roles at Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club including powercraft officer, club captain and secretary.<\/p>\n
Mr Treloar has also served on the Board of Life Saving Victoria and held other state positions such as state duty officer, state communications centre operator and crew member for the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue<\/p>\n
Helicopter Service.<\/p>\n
Life Saving Victoria chief executive officer Cath Greaves thanked him for his contribution in many roles to the Victorian lifesaving movement.<\/p>\n
“I congratulate Kane on receiving the Emergency Services Medal,” Ms. Greaves said.<\/p>\n
