{"id":180245,"date":"2026-02-12T04:00:29","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T17:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=180245"},"modified":"2026-02-11T18:42:43","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T07:42:43","slug":"motor-show-revs-in-torquay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/motor-show-revs-in-torquay\/","title":{"rendered":"Motor Show revs in Torquay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MORE than 4,000 people enjoyed casting their eye over top class vehicles and motorbikes at the Torquay Rotary Motor Show<\/p>\n<p>The 16th edition of popular community event swept through Elephant Walk Park in Torquay last weekend, gaining the attention of locals and tourists alike.<\/p>\n<p>Cars and bikes were judged in more than 20 categories, with willing sponsors providing the prizes for each champion.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 602px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/2026MotorShowBestClu_32688.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"602\" height=\"401\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Best Club Display went to HSV Enthusiasts Club.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>For the first time, attendees could can take a ride in a Lamborghini Huracan STO, Porsche GT3 RS, Ferrari F8 Tributo or McLaren 750S Spider.<\/p>\n<p>Local food vendors, stallholders and special guests also roamed around the event site and contributed to the success of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Torquay Rotary Motor Show organiser Trevor Hall said last weekend&#8217;s event would go down as the biggest one they&#8217;ve ever had.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The day was just fantastic, the weather was shining and we had an extraordinary roll up of patrons,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Leading up to the event we had increased support from sponsors that we hadn&#8217;t seen before. To get that support helps us to put on a successful event.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fellow organiser Bruce Turner said they had more than 100 volunteers who assisted with the delivery of the day.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/2026MotorShowBestBik_32691.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The winner of the Best Bike was Keith Bakker for his 1998 Harley Davidson Heritage.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;The vibe was just amazing, we certainly can&#8217;t complain about that.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There was so many smiling faces, particularly from those who got to ride in the sports cars.
