LOCAL wrestler Edward Dusk will get another chance at the Oceania Pro Wrestling (OPW) Heavyweight Title this year, with WrestleWave 2 locked in for September.<\/p>\n

OPW has decreed that Love v Dusk 2 will be for the Championship on September 27 in front of what is expected to be a packed crowd at Torday’s Wurdi Baierr Stadium.<\/p>\n

Dusk had the title stolen on January 25 when Jazzy, the manager and girlfriend of his opponent Jesse Love, twice interfered.<\/p>\n

This time, Jazzy will be watched by a “special guest referee” to be announced before the event.<\/p>\n

Dusk confirmed his desire to get a clean shot at the title, endorsing measures to keep Jazzy under control and out of the rematch.<\/p>\n

“That OPW title was mine, and for her to twice interfere showed she knows that deep down,” he said. “Her man Jesse just wouldn’t be able to beat me one on one.<\/p>\n

“I will guarantee victory on September 27 in front of another sellout crowd at WrestleWave 2.”<\/p>\n

Love refused to comment on the rematch, except to say: “What a joke,.Typical of the Surf Coast needing help to compete with the Gold Coast. I will have more to say when the special enforcer is named.”<\/p>\n

Torquay resident Jake Taylor will also feature on the card in a number one contender’s match for the OPW championship.<\/p>\n

He will face off against Ballarat’s “Country Chaos” Kayno, and a third opponent, still to be confirmed. The winner of this triple threat match will get the next title shot at whoever wins the Love v Dusk smackdown.<\/p>\n

Taylor is looking forward to another opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd.<\/p>\n

“It was amazing to have the support of the people of the Surf Coast, whether it was their first wrestling show or not, they cannot wait for the next one,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I’m not here to disappoint the fans of OPW and the Surf Coast. I will remain undefeated in Torquay.”<\/p>\n
