WORLD Longboard Tour competitors Ben Considine and Bea Conroy have reigned supreme in Round 1 of the Victorian Longboard Titles at Phillip Island.<\/p>\n

The local pair etched out top surfers from around the state in classic longboarding waves at Cat Bay and Surfies Point across two days of action.<\/p>\n

Both surfers result in the event inches them closer to the coveted wildcard spot in the Bells Beach Longboard Classic WSL event later this year.<\/p>\n

Considine looked in prime form throughout the event, posting near excellent scores in all his heats on the way to the title.<\/p>\n

The multiple time Australian champion looked right at home in the fast left-handed walls at Cat Bay, before switching it onto his backhand on Finals Day.<\/p>\n

His 8.37 and 8.27 to close out the day saw him edge out Sam Dunton, Will Cousins and Thomas Fahey for top honours.<\/p>\n

In the women’s field, multiple time state champion Bea Conroy looked like a surfer on a mission.<\/p>\n

Hitting the water for the first time on Sunda after a lay day for the Open Women the day prior, Conroy looked in fine fashion with her smooth style.<\/p>\n

Her 13.83 in the Semi Final would be the highest score of the women’s field, before following it with a 13.67 in the event final to just pip Torquay surfer Rory Reyntjes by 0.17 points.<\/p>\n

Third went to former Australian champion Emma Webb and fourth was Angela King.<\/p>\n

Other local divisional winners included Emma Webb (Over 40 Women, Torquay), Greg Brown (Over 50 and Over 60 Men, Lorne) and Delilah Chisholm (Under 18 Girls, Torquay).<\/p>\n

The final round of the Victorian Longboard Titles will be held at Point Impossible on the Surf Coast on 2-3 May.<\/p>\n

With the overall titles and wildcard positions still to be decided, competitors will be looking to deliver their best performances.<\/p>\n
