Jan Juc Boardriders relished the opportunity of representing their community with pride at the 2026 Australian Boardriders Battle national final.<\/p>\n

The local surfing club made the quarterfinals of Australia’s marquee teams surfing event, which took place at Burleigh Heads at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Jan Juc secured a second place in its opening round heat, sending shockwaves through the competition with their tidy and composed approach.<\/p>\n

Power surfer Kai Nudd led the way for the “black and white”, scoring a 6.93-point ride on his best wave.<\/p>\n

He was well supported by Tim Stevenson, Cooper Downes, Carly Shanahan and Dom Kellett, who all had mid-range scores of their own.<\/p>\n

Pitted against former winners and eventual finalists Byron Bay in the quarterfinals, Jan Juc was up against elite competition.<\/p>\n

Each team in the quarterfinal boosted talent from the Championship Tour, with these competitors showcasing their elite skills.<\/p>\n

Jan Juc walked away with a fifth place, unable to get their momentum going in tricky conditions.<\/p>\n

Club president Dane Carollo said the club were over the moon with getting to Finals Day.<\/p>\n

“We were surfing against pros, so to get through that first round and achieve our best result ever was huge.<\/p>\n

“We loved the experience we got out of it. Surfing Australia run the event so well and you really feel the love.<\/p>\n

“The morale was unreal, everyone just did such a great job of supporting each other.”<\/p>\n

North Shelley Boardriders won Sunday’s final; their second title in the competition.<\/p>\n
