{"id":182589,"date":"2026-03-16T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-15T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=182589"},"modified":"2026-03-11T21:32:56","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T10:32:56","slug":"swell-sessions-to-close-out-in-style","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/swell-sessions-to-close-out-in-style\/","title":{"rendered":"Swell Sessions to close out in style"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SOME of Australia&#8217;s top and up-and-coming bands will hit the stage to close out Swell Sessions.<\/p>\n<p>The event at the Torquay SLSC on 11 April will feature the musical talents of The Terrys, The Beefs, Holiday Mystics, Krystal Rivvers, Blondehouse and live DJs.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees are invited to celebrate the Surf Coast and support the work of Torquay SLSC, with all proceeds going towards protecting the coastline for generations to come.<\/p>\n<p>After a huge sellout Swell Sessions show from Bones and Jones, Surf Hat and Floodlights in February, Gerringong locals The Terrys will take the stage next month.<\/p>\n<p>The Beefs, one of Australia&#8217;s most energetic pub rock bands will blend their infectious pop groove with the tongue-in-cheek Aussie spirit that ignites a crowd.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_182597\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-182597\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-182597\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/03\/the-terrys_23493_tn-600x380.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-182597\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Terrys will headline the beachfront celebration.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Their breakout tracks \u2013 Red Bellied Black Snake, Punchin and In the Blood \u2013 have amassed millions of streams.<\/p>\n<p>Tasmanian four-piece Holiday Mystics has been described as &#8220;a chaotic Fleetwood Mac and a mystic Red Hot Chili Peppers&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Alt-rock force Krystal Rivvers will blend their psych-rock and soul, while Blondehouse will get the floor stomping with their grungy punk energy.<\/p>\n<p>Torquay SLSC fundraising director Jay Muir said the coastal music extravaganza would be the ultimate send-off to the warmer months.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been such a great series since opening it up and it&#8217;s gained so much traction,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve now got bands in the industry approaching us and asking to get on board, which is the place to be.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/03\/beef_23497.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"449\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Beefs will blend their infectious pop groove with tongue in cheek Aussie spirit.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been a huge success in terms of numbers of people through the doors, and continues to raise significant funds for what we do here at Torquay SLSC.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Muir said proceeds would go towards training young lifesavers, running bronze medallion courses and maintaining equipment.<\/p>\n<p>If the event series continues to be a success, some much-needed upkeep to the Torquay SLSC building is next on the checklist.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s the best venue on the coast,&#8221; Muir said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A lick of paint and some new floorboards would give it a real freshen up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for Swell Sessions are available via Humanitix.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SOME of Australia&#8217;s top and up-and-coming bands will hit the stage to close out Swell Sessions.
