\n\u00bb A few pinkies and snapper appearing when fishos get out
\n\u00bb Reports of some flathead offshore in deeper water
\n\u00bb Salmon reports of local beaches
\n\u00bb Bream being caught in Spring Creek.<\/p>\n

QUEENSCLIFF<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00bb St Leonards reports of a few King George whiting, flathead and calamari continue
\n\u00bb Clifton Springs is seeing a few whiting, pinkies, flathead and squid being reported
\n\u00bb Some whiting, flathead and squid of Queenscliff and some snapper reported
\n\u00bb The creek, still some trevally and salmon
\n\u00bb Swan Bay, squid, whiting being reported
\n\u00bb Point Lonsdale is still seeing reports of trevally, salmon and snapper
\n\u00bb The White Lady, reports of whiting and squid continue
\n\u00bb Indented Head has reports of flathead, King George whiting and squid.<\/p>\n

VICTORIANS will get a better insight into the health of the state\u2019s waterways and native fish numbers following the launch of the Native Fish Report Card, funded by the State Labor Government.<\/p>\n

Minister for Water Lisa Neville and Minister for Agriculture Jaala Pulford released the Native Fish Report Card last week, which aims to keep communities updated about the state of native fish in Victorian rivers.<\/p>\n

By monitoring fish populations in Victoria\u2019s 10 priority rivers, the Native Fish Report Card will tell local anglers and conservationists about the health of key Victorian fish species.<\/p>\n

The priority rivers are: Gellibrand River, Glenelg River, Goulburn River, Gunbower, Lindsay & Mullaroo, Mitchell River, Ovens River, Thomson & Macalister, Wimmera River and Yarra River.<\/p>\n

Ms Neville said the Report Card will give the community and anglers important information about the state of Victorian fish.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough Water for Victoria, we\u2019re improving information about our waterways and catchments, and better reporting back to communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Pulford said, \u201cWe want more Victorians fishing more often, which is why we\u2019re investing in the Native Fish Report Card to provide the community information on where to go fishing and what they can expect to catch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t wait to see the benefits of our record native fish stocking and continued investment in snags for fish reflected in future report card results.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fishers, citizen scientists and community members alike can access information about recreational and threatened non-recreational fish species through a web-portal that will be updated with new fish population data every year.<\/p>\n

Over the next three years this website will provide valuable information on the condition of native fish and is the first Victorian program to do so. As data is strengthened throughout the years, we\u2019ll be able to discover trends in fish populations.<\/p>\n

Funding for this program comes from the Labor Government\u2019s record $222 million investment into waterway and catchment health, recreational fishing licence fees and Target One Million, which is investing a record $46 million to get more people fishing, more often.<\/p>\n

The program is run by Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and the Victorian Fisheries Authority.<\/p>\n
