BELLBRAE’S cemetery will open a new gravesite area this year, and the managing trust is asking for new volunteers to lend a hand.<\/p>\n

Established in 1864, Bellbrae Cemetery will make the new graves available for purchase later this year, with further details to be released in the coming months.<\/p>\n

The new area is divided into three sections named Correa, Grevillea and Manna Gum, continuing the cemetery’s tradition of adopting native floral themes.<\/p>\n

It is thoughtfully designed to suit different personal wishes and styles of remembrance.<\/p>\n

Located in the northern section of the cemetery, the new area is curved to sit sympathetically into the landscape.<\/p>\n

It will provide about 200 lawn graves and 400 headstone-only graves for traditional burial or placement of ashes.<\/p>\n

The cemetery also offers a variety of garden memorial sites for the placement of ashes.<\/p>\n

Sites are offered for perpetuity, and the Bellbrae Cemetery Trust works to maintain the cemetery as a lasting space where memories are honoured for generations to come through the maintenance of the flora, landscape, heritage graves and the preservation of historical records.<\/p>\n

As the grounds grow, so too must the team that oversees them, and the trust is seeking new members.<\/p>\n

The trust is looking for a diverse range of community-minded individuals to fill multiple vacancies, offering opportunities for both strategic leadership and hands-on service.<\/p>\n

Whether you are a seasoned professional or a community member with a passion for local heritage and helping others, there are roles that fit a wide range of experiences.<\/p>\n

The trust is looking for individuals with experience in:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Leadership and governance – strategic planning, governance, and policy review<\/p>\n

\u2022 Project and business management – project management, risk and compliance, financial management, and<\/p>\n

\u2022 Operational and community support – stakeholder engagement, meeting with families to assist with plot selection, or representing the trust at interments.<\/p>\n
