Police have made a third arrest as investigations continue into a fatal house fire in Norlane earlier this week.<\/p>\n
The latest development comes after a woman died in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with emergency services called to a block of units on Thompson Road about 3am on March 31.<\/p>\n
Arson and Explosives Squad detectives arrested a 23-year-old Norlane man at his home about 9am on Wednesday. He will now be interviewed by investigators.<\/p>\n
The arrest follows two men being taken into custody on Tuesday. A 35-year-old Norlane man and a 38-year-old Breakwater man have since been released pending further enquiries.<\/p>\n
Fire crews brought the blaze under control before locating an unresponsive woman inside one of the properties.<\/p>\n
Despite efforts by emergency responders, she could not be revived at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.<\/p>\n
Police say the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, with specialist detectives continuing to examine evidence.<\/p>\n
The incident has continued to shock the Norlane community, with multiple arrests now forming part of the ongoing probe.<\/p>\n
Authorities are again urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.<\/p>\n
